I would not put that responsibility on my Trustee to accomplish. If you are in title now, you can record a Deed to Trustee that will transfer the title from you to your Trustee. Mr. LT

John, if you own the property now and put it in a land trust, you could sell the beneficial interest in the trust to a buyer and avoid the transfer tax. It is not a good idea to title the property directly...

Thomas, you need to get the title of your property out of your name ASAP. The problem in Michigan is they do not recognize the typical Land Trust structure. They have something called a "Lady Bird" deed....
